Belloc would blush in shame, I should think, if he could see the state of the world today, for suggesting that we should wait 'til it breaks.

In the U.S., the currency is officially devalued at a rate of 2% per year. Unofficially, it is much worse. This forces even those who would avoid it to suffer greatly.

Just the fact that money is created by loaning it into circulation makes us all parties to usury. And the fact that loans, productive or unproductive, repayable or not, have become the basis of the economy means that usury has created a death spiral of increasing prices that impoverish all but those who create the money. Central Banks and their parasites. Anything, be it government, corporation, or private citizen, will have their substance gnawed away to nothing by this beast.

The phantasm of economic growth is nothing if a person cannot support his family for life through his modest earnings. I challenge any one to show a person who can provide for his family through a modest and sober career in this day an age - engaging in banking or not. It has gone so far that even the taking of usury will not save the common man, business, or government.

Belloc, or at least his fans, will see what the break point really amounts to.

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
